A Futuristic Design for a Historic Celebration of Space

Together with Visit Seattle and other local businesses, The Museum of Flight created a family-friendly, summer-long event series devoted to bringing the community together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of landing on the moon.
As a central hub for all event, exhibit, and sponsorship information about Seattle’s Summer of Space program, we designed and developed a futuristic website that created a fully immersive experience. Not only did the design feel modern and cutting-edge but the functionality followed. Upon landing the numbers flickered between 1969 and 2019. When visitors would scroll objects began to float in and the background had a light wave that followed the cursor.
The moon landing pushed people to look to the future—our hope was this site would do the same.

Collaborations

The success of this project would not have been possible without the talented crew at Moncur. The deepest of gratitude to the incredible team of designers, developers, and copywriters working beside me.
